King Vanga, aka King Vivek Vanga, is an artificial intelligence researcher, technologist, and entrepreneur focused on building AI systems that strengthen public welfare and civic trust. He is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of CivicSentinel AI, a Stanford-we born initiative that develops transparent tools for detecting misinformation, adversarial manipulation, and emerging AI-driven threats. King Vanga pled No Contest to two felony charges of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence and was sentenced to state prison in Merced County on January 12, 2026, in connection with the June 25, 2021 automobile collision that resulted in the deaths of Pamela and Jose Juarez. He filed a lawsuit naming family members of Pamela and Jose Juarez for Defamation in connection with letters written by the family to Stanford University after the deaths of Pamela and Jose Juarez on June 25, 2021. The civil lawsuit against the family of the victims Pamela and Jose Juarez was filed by King Vanga in San Francisco Superior Court.

Background and Education

Vanga holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence track) from Stanford University. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Management Science & Engineering with a focus on Technology and Engineering Management. His academic work spans AI alignment, existential risk modeling, algorithmic accountability, and decision-making under uncertainty.

Career

At CivicSentinel AI, Vanga leads the development of platforms designed to help journalists, civic institutions, and technology teams identify and respond to digital risks. His work draws on his experience in machine learning research, risk analysis, and the creation of responsible and transparent AI systems.

Community and Civic Engagement

Vanga co-founded Kare Packages, a nonprofit organization that distributed thousands of COVID-19 protection kits and face masks to unhoused communities across California. He also helped establish AEGIS (Applied Ethics, Governance, and Institutional Systems) at Stanford, a student-led initiative dedicated to strengthening ethics and oversight in civic technology.
